How To Be Alone

I had discovered Andrea Dorfman many months ago but with different eyes watched this video on Aloneness today. It spoke to me.

What is speaking to you today?

  1. I tend to prefer being alone, being a loner. I never really am, though, with a house full. Someday?

  2. There are times I get lonely but most of the time there is no opportunity be alone. I do miss alone time. This video reminded me of a time when I was a single mom and chose to not date and to just be alone and with myself, for the purpose of learning how to be alone. I learned a lot about myself during that time. At first I cried a lot and felt so alone and didn't know what to do with myself. Then ever so slowly I learned how to be with just myself and I actually liked it. I still felt lonely on occasion but for the most part I very happy.

    I really liked this video.

What is speaking to me today? The important of living in the moment. XX

  3. I don't mind being alone, some of the time, but I don't like feeling lonely. That has been the hardest part, for me. Love and hugs, Marguerite

  4. I like myself now and am content to be alone. More than content. Happy. There is a big difference between being alone and being lonely. I have been lonely with people. Nice video.

  6. The baby has been smiling and is working on a gurgling laugh tonight. That is speaking to me.

  7. Before I had children, I loved being alone. Now? Notsomuch. Sure, we all love a little me time, but too much is depressing.

You're not really alone, you know. As long as you have memories, you're not alone.

  8. This was amazing. What an incredible young woman, wise beyond her years.

Why are we so afraid of being alone? Why am I?

Be a testament. I will remember that closing line for a very long time.
