I feel they live much happier and healthier lives.
I still can't bring myself to eat an animal. My mom says I'm hypersensitive...
I just feel too guilty now, especially when I know I don't NEED to eat them to thrive.

I always get the question "What if you were living 100 years ago and you had to eat meat to survive?"

Well, I would. It's that simple. One must do what they can to live healthily. But to live healthily, I don't need to eat the flesh of another creature.

:) But I love that you posted this for your readers! Go there, then have lunch at The Green Table - it is farm to table cuisine. I'm not a vegetarian (anymore) and I truly enjoy various meats, poultry and fish. When everyone knows about the health and environmental benefits, not to mention the health RISK that the high yield beef producers put people in - grassfed will be the NORM. Power to the people! Power to the small, local farmers!!
how's that for a soap-box? I too can get up on a soap box about the food we eat and I try REALLY hard not to write about it on my blog tooo much because I think it alienates people. I do not eat meat unless it is local, organic, and grass fed. This goes for eggs, chickens and beef. I think it is so important to eat organic and LOCAL, and therefore in season. I think it really helps people to connect with their food and what they put in their bodies so much more. I could talk about this all day! : )Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11571662009601634638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9071135032060260965.post-719213028664806972010-01-26T13:37:15.827-05:002010-01-26T13:37:15.827-05:00Whitney - your comment made my day!!! My husband is such a meat and potatoes guy so he's been struggling since I've cut out pretty much all of the red meat here at the house.

I've checked out the link and found a several farms within 30 minutes to an hour from here. The fantastic thing is that one of them deals with a store that's about 5 miles from the house. All I have to do is drive over and see what they have to offer! I'm very excited about this. Thank you again for this post.Whitney Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07766231420593480962noreply@blogger.com
